History of the Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem #1 / Historia Rycerskiego Zakonu Szpitalników Świętego Jana #1 (Footsore Miniatures)

Hello friends!
I invite you to the first post devoted to the Knights of St. John, theKnights Hospitaller or the Order of Saint John today (although I will focus more on the period of the first crusades).
The occasion for the new series of entries become the model of the Hospitaller from Footsore Miniatures
(The model reminds me very much of one of the characters in the film Kingdom of Heaven ;-)
The pictures also include two brothers painted a few years ago (I don't want to repaint them from sentiment;) from Perry Miniatures.
I have no plans for these models to build a large army for SAGA, but a smaller team for
Outremer: Faith and Blood. The situation is similar with my Templars.

I invite you to the first part - introduction.

he Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem (Latin: Ordo Fratrum Hospitalis Sancti Ioannis Hierosolymitani), commonly known as the Knights Hospitaller or the Order of Saint John, was a medieval and early modern Catholic military order. It was hea…

A (Goblin) Midsummer Night's Dream: Puck & Pease / (Gobliński) Sen Nocy Letniej: Puk i Groszek (Artizan Designs)

Hello everyone!
I admit to you my Dears, that I have a disability that I am not ashamed of. I love the smell of books and, moreover, I love reading their content (a book, a relic of the past that stimulates the imagination and is extremely unpopular in modern times).

One of my favorite authors, since elementary school, is William Shakespeare. I love his tragedies like Hamlet, MacBeth or Romeo and Juliet.
Later, I discovered lighter pieces by the English poet, which my wife and I enjoy watching in theaters. Twelfth Night or What You Will, The Two Gentlemen of Verona or The Taming of The Shrew are just a few titles from the top of our list.
I have another title up because of my interest in fantasy, which I love.

Talking about the Midsummer Night's Dream (what a great and beautiful title!), Which I decided to adopt for the needs of a series of entries.

In my version I changed the forest ghosts into malicious goblins, which received fairly colorful and fairy-tale costumes.
Today I finished t…

Story of Cardinal Richelieu / Historia Kardynała Richelieu (Anno Domini 1666: Richelieu)

Hello everyone!
I am returning to the 17th Vienna and Anno Domini 1666 game from Wargamer today. The entry's hero will be Cardinal Richelieu (definitely one of my favorite figurines for the game!).
You may ask, what is this French priest doing in 1666, if according to history he died in the year of 1642?
Let us remember that Anno Domini 1666  is a historical game with a large dose of legends, drawing on the folklore of European countries and regions. In addition to regular historical formations, we also have werewolves, golems and ... vampires.
And the last lover of human blood for the needs of the game is the cardinal ...

And what was the life of the historic Cardinal Richelieu ?

When Alexander Dumas made him one of the main characters of the "The Three Musketeers" novel, he described him as a statesman, Machiavellian and devoted to his service in government. On this basis, popular tradition conveys his image as an almost sinister person.

What was he really like?

Star Wars Legion: Rebel Pathfinders #1

"It's Rogue. Rogue One."
Hello everyone!
There were to be three rebels but I have finished two today. This is my first approach to Star Wars Legion models (previously I painted a few figures for Imperial Assault).
Models on a 32mm scale look pretty good and nothing to complain about.

Spies, saboteurs, and assassins.
The Rebel Pathfinders are the most elite—and the most deadly—of the Alliance’s soldiers. These grizzled combat veterans need unwavering dedication to their cause in order to endure the horrors of their operations and missions.
This was also the case in the suicide mission, where a group of rebels go to the planet Scarif with a stolen imperial ship, which they call Rogue 1...

Witam wszystkich!
Miało być dziś trzech rebeliantów ale skończyłem na razie dwóch. To moje pierwsze podejście do modeli Star Wars Legion (wcześniej malowałem kilka figurek do Imperial Assault).
Modele w skali około 32mm prezentują się całkiem dobrze i nie ma co narzekać.

Szpiedzy, sabotażyści i zab…

About Golems in Jewish tradition and legend / O Golemach w tradycji i legendzie żydowskiej ( Anno Domini 1666: Rabbi & Golem )

Hello everyone!
I do not slow down in the new year and invite you to the next post. I'm going back to XVII Vienna and Anno Domini 1666 game from polish Wargamer

Rabbi Nathan and Golem today...
Nathan ben Moses Hannover is in his seventies. Nobody knows where or when exactly he was born. Some say Cracow, others say Germany. Having received proper education, he worked as a teacher at the synagogue in Iziaslav.
During the Chmielnicki Uprising the city fell, got halfway burned to the ground, the Polish nobility graves defiled, Catholic churches demolished and the synagogue turned into a stable.
Nathan fled along with most of the city population. The remaining 200 Jews who stayed, either because of old age, poor health, or putting to much trust in their neighbors, were killed by the Cossacks. Nathan escaped the turbulent Ukraine and made his way to Venice via Prague. There he studied the kabbalah lore.
A few years ago he went back to Prague, seeing in his prophecies that hard times were c…
