[EN/PL] Averland. Part II: The Bergjaeger

"Beware of the merchants there, avoid the nobility and never trust their women."- Ivich Karamazov, Captain of the Mercenaries
Hello everyone!
I am continuing today the entry dedicated to the Averland band from last week. This time, the first part of the history of this Empire province and the characteristics of the main characters - Bergjaeger.
I invite you!

Averland. The Land. Part I.
Averland lies in the south of the Empire, between the rivers Aver and Upper Reik and borders upon the Black Mountains and the huge range that is the Worlds Edge Mountains. It’s a prosperous province, though it’s neither one of the largest or most influential in the Empire.
Averland is a fertile land irrigated by annual floods of large rivers surrounding it. It happens that too large floods flood the settlements and cities located along their banks.
The Black Mountains and the World Edge Mountains harbour plenty of mines, many are in Dwarf possession. The metal ore is sold at a good profit in Av…

[EN/PL] Averland. Part I: Von Kragsburg Guards #1 / Straż Von Kragsburga #1

Hello to you!
It's weekend, so there is a new entry on Dwarfcrypt! I invite you today for a short entry related to my new project. I decided to sacrifice some of the Lancknechts I own to a new band of Empire soldiers to Mordheim game.
Initially, I wanted them to have the colors of the Striland region, green and yellow, but ultimately I decided to do them in the Averland fashion, i.e. yellow and black.
If Averland...

The Von Kragsburg Guard are an Averland regiment of freelance Imperial soldiers funded and equipped by House Von Kragsburg, in the interest of protecting and ensuring the overall safety of trade along the Old Dwarf Road in exchange for a exorbitant fee.
The patriarch of the noble family, Duke Bertold von Kragsburg, also known as the "Dirty Duke", like his father before him, was forever seeking the glitter of gold in all its forms and value, seeking any avenue to ensure his wealth would grow ten-fold upon the climax of his endevour.

       As such, when the …

[EN/PL] Landsknechts V: Wir sind des Geyers Schwarzer Haufen / We are Florian Geyer's Black Company / Jesteśmy Czarnym Hufcem Geyera

Hello everyone!
The first historical entry on DwarfCrypt in the new year today. I return to one of my favorite topics- Landsknechts.
I will take a closer look at the Black Company by Florian Geyer and show three new soldiers painted for the occasion.

Other entries related to this multicolored formation can be found below:
I. Sacco di Roma / The Sack of Rome / Złupienie Rzymu (1527)II. Landsknechts II: Dopplesoldiers / Landsknechci - Podwójnożołdacy (Artizan Designs)III. Landsknechts III: Regiment (Warlord Games)IV. Landsknechts IV: Recruitment / Rekrutacja (Warlord Games)The original German name of the Black Company was Schwarzer Haufen. The term Schwarz (black) pointed out the ideological distance of the company from the large peasant army at that time, which called itself the Heller Haufen (Hell meaning "light-colored"). Black Lancknechts probably also distinguished black elements of uniforms. The German word Haufen was the name the peasants gave to their armed companies.

[EN/PL] Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and... / Doktor Jekyll i pan Hyde i.. (Grabblecast Modular Stone Wall)

Hello everyone in the first post in the New Year!
I dont predict major revolutions this year at DwarfCrypt, and as it was in previous years, you can expect, my dears, once a week entry with painted models + short, non-boring storytelling.

I used in today's entry:
Burke & Hare models from the West Wind Production;Professor Egir Eldstrom's model (which has not got a separate entry yet, and was already painted good two years ago!) from Micro Art Studio;Elements of the Modular Stone Wall area from friends from Grabblecast.Modular Stone Wallis made of resin and consists of 9 parts. The walls and the gate are so universal that they fit perfectly into fantasy and historical wargames. In my post they will do as an element of Gothic-Victorian scenery. My only addition is a monk figurine, which I added for a climate on one of the brick pillars.

One of the elements that reminds me of the atmosphere of Victorian horror is literature and, among other things, a short novel by the Scottish a…
