[EN/PL] Landsknechts I: Sacco di Roma / The Sack of Rome / Złupienie Rzymu (1527)

Hello everyone!
And invite you to the next dose of less known facts from history plus the first two completely new painted metal Landknechts models, about the history of which I wrote in THIS place.
I also think seriously about the use of the soldiers presented today, and the subsequent painted seven, as Stirland warriors, into the MoRdheim system, from the Warhammer universe.
A few words about the figures from Warlord Games themselves, which are sculpted quite well and have an interesting pose - like looters! I carved the city pavement from green stuff and I think it will be perfect for the streets of Italian cities and the cursed corners of the Old World.

I invite you to look at photos and a short text!

Sacco di Roma, is the general name for the conquest and looting of Rome in May 6-14, 1527 by the German-Spanish armies of Charles V during the war with France, Pope Clement VII and Italian cities (War of the League of Cognac). The barbaric destruction of the city put an end to the period…

[EN/PL] Draugr, the zombies of the Vikings times / Draugi, czyli zombie czasów wikingów (Gripping Beast Zombie Revenant)

Draugur* in Old Iceland, Draugr in Sweden, Norway and Denmark or Dreag in Old English nomenclature, although the most accurate are the words of the Old Danish Uppvakningar word- resurrected from the dead and Aptrgangr - who walk after death.

Yes, today I invite you to an entry dedicated to the undead  in Vikings beliefs world.
The palette of ghosts and wraiths and deamons is quite large in Norse folklore, but Draug (modern spelling used in Denmark, Norway and Sweden) was the greatest fear - living dead and ghastly visitors.
According to the legends and sagas, Draugr were the ghoul of dead people - they looked like what we now know under the name of zombies or decaying corpses. They were like warriors from old times, armed with old weapons, and worn robes. The worst, however, was their behavior.

Draugr had the worst traits of a living warrior. They could, therefore, be cruel and vengeful. Hating everything that is alive (longing for life?), and if we add to it enorm…

[EN/PL] Milady de Winter ( Wargamer's Hot & Dangerous: Eloise )

"Woman was created for our destruction, and it is the cause of all our woes ..."
As one of the heroes of the "Three Musketeers" novel by Alexander Dumas used to say.
And in this climate, I invite All Visitors to the presentation of a painted miniature from Wargamer and their Wargamer's Hot & Dangerous series and a few words about a one wicked woman.

I am a big fan of  figurines for the Anno Domini 1666game, where we can, among others, lead a group of musketeers, known from the novel's cards. No wonder that another model of a woman, stylized as a historic pin-up, which I painted is a musketeer.
Just in the sculpture of this mini is more historical correctness, and less Pin-up, therefore, the better my lady looks among men's swords and coats.

The main features of the model:
Made of white metal,         Height: 28 mm,It consists of four parts: body, hand with a sword, hat and base. The miniature is made very nicely, with attention to the smallest…

[EN/PL] Gangs of Rome: Daily life in Ancient Rome #1 / Gangi Rzymu: Codzienne życie w Starożytnym Rzymie #1

Hello all!

Today, I invite everyone to the first of the cycle of expeditions through the streets of ancient Rome.

The main reason for taking up this topic is the recent premiere of the Gangs of Rome game.

Inspired by the history of the great city, Gangs of Rome takes place in the shadows of the Empire where the heads of ambitious houses have gathered fighters forged hard by the streets to do their bidding and enact their schemes.

As a Dominus, the head of a house of Rome, you will seek out the most brutal of Romes criminal denizens, plying them with the promise of wealth and glory should they aid you in your plan to rise to the Senate of Rome and cast down all enemies before you.

I will definitely write about the game itself, preceding it with test games. As you know, painted models play better, and reviews definitely do it after trying it out in practice. Miniatures and game stuff You can buy THERE

Therefore, I invite you to the first entry introducing the atmosphere o…
